Guide & answers
Frequently asked questions
Both a guide to the site and answers to the questions learners and mentors usually ask.
Where do I start?
Sign in to the learner dashboard and click 'Start micro-lesson' on the 'Your knowledge frontier' card. The system always suggests the first skill you're ready to learn as the next step.
What is the knowledge map and how does it work?
The knowledge map shows every skill across a few domains. Each skill is either locked (unfinished prerequisites), on your 'frontier' (ready to learn), or mastered.
What are courses and final exams?
Each branch of the knowledge map is a 'course'. Once you've mastered every skill in a course, its final exam unlocks. Passing issues a shareable, viewable certificate.
What is the Research Hub for?
A collection of reference papers with structured summaries (problem/method/finding) and a two-way citation graph.
What is the spaced-repetition review queue?
After mastering a skill, the system calculates the best next review time based on the forgetting curve and schedules it, so the skill stays in memory for good.
